WHAT IS IT?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) massage aims to improve the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body, this helps to eliminate toxins and boosts the immune system. this is a very light touch massage that can be used pre or post surgery, but it is not solely used for this purpose. Lymphatic massage is increasing in popularity for reducing edema(fluid retention). The effects of regular lymphatic massage are, less dimpling on the skin, improved skin texture, less puffiness throughout the body, helps to aid healthy body and immune system. This is a very light touch massage and offers a truly relaxing experience thus beneficial for body and mind.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You’ll be asked to lie comfortably on the treatment couch, covered with towels or blankets for modesty and warmth.
Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any one time.
The treatment starts by stimulating key lymph nodes (often at the neck, collarbone, or abdomen) to ‘open’ drainage pathways.
This creates a gentle suction effect to encourage fluid movement throughout the body.
